Promise Academy Design and Apply Make-Up This course at Promise Academy is designed for aspiring and professional beauty therapists, retail cosmetic assistants, and freelance makeup artists who work in beauty salons, makeup studios, retail cosmetic environments, and photography or media settings requiring professional makeup services. Through these units, students will develop the practical skills and professional knowledge required to design and apply makeup for day, evening, special occasions, and photography. The course emphasizes client consultation, facial and skin analysis, and the ability to select and apply appropriate makeup products to meet individual client needs or a specific makeup brief, including the use of specialised products and advanced application techniques. Course Highlights Foundations of Makeup Design Learn the core principles of professional makeup artistry, including skin preparation, color theory, hygiene, and product application techniques. Students will build a strong foundation to confidently create natural, everyday, and enhanced makeup looks. Advanced Application Techniques Develop advanced skills in contouring, highlighting, and eye makeup to enhance facial features while maintaining balance and harmony. Learn how to adapt techniques to different face shapes and client expectations. Photography Makeup Gain specialized knowledge in makeup for photography, including understanding lighting, camera effects, and high-definition requirements. Learn how to create makeup looks that appear flawless both on camera and in person. Client Customization & Consultation Master professional consultation techniques to analyze face shape, skin type, skin tone, and personal style. Students will learn how to design customized makeup looks that reflect each client’s unique beauty and meet specific briefs. Product Knowledge Explore essential professional makeup products and tools, including those specifically designed for long-wear, HD, and photography makeup. Learn how to choose the right products for different environments and client needs. On-Set & Professional Practice Gain insight into working in professional environments such as photoshoots and studios. Learn how to collaborate effectively with photographers, models, and stylists to achieve cohesive and high-quality results.
